Designer Case Study: Rockville Interiors Video Contest

We hear from designers who use our products around the globe that the "rules of engagement" with their customers are ever changing. Success in interior design is now about more than style - it's about how well one can engage its core audience/demographics with that style, ultimately resulting in a sale.

We visited with Rockville Interiors, the D.C. area’s premier fabric workroom specializing in the design, fabrication and installation of custom window treatments, re-upholstery, slipcovers, etc., about the contest they ran recently featuring one of our fabrics, to keep their audience engaged with their products.

The GoalRockville Interiors wanted to drive more traffic to their social media profiles so that they could increase engagement and likes on Facebook.

The ContestThey created a Facebook contest to ask their customers what they would do with a certain type of Fabricut fabric for a Home Design Makeover worth $5,000. The Facebook fan with the most novel idea would win.

The contest was also cross promoted on Instagram and Twitter and supported with Facebook advertising.

The ResultsRockville Interiors received tons of entries on their Facebook due to the contest, and 524 new Facebook likes during the contest period. While they say their new likes came from their Facebook advertising mostly, their organic audience viewed 89 pages and were responsible for 2,344 post engagements.
